UniCredit aknowledges the results of the withdrawal right exercised on Capitalia shares
With regard to the merger project of Capitalia, UniCredit acknowledges the contents of the Capitalia press release published today, disclosing that the overall number of legitimate withdrawn Capitalia shares amounts to 81,346,112 shares (equivalent to 3.12% of Capitalia share capital).
UniCredit considers the limited overall amount of exercised withdrawal rights a confirmation of the positive opinion of the Capitalia shareholders on the merger and a signal of trust in the value creation achievable with such transaction.
As already anticipated, we remind that the impact of the above described exercise of withdrawal right on UniCredit Group capital will be assessed by UniCredit Board of Directors, summoned next 18 September, which will decide whether to call the Extraordinary Shareholders' Meeting to resolve on the proposal of removal of the statutory clause concerning voting right limitation the approval of which would make void the above mentioned exercise of withdrawal right.
