DE&I Week marks yet another significant milestone to further strengthen our Culture, founded on our Values of Integrity, Ownership and Caring, and increase awareness on our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion principles and best practices.

The opening event kicked-off with an official DE&I Week video, joining together 14,000 colleagues from across the bank and featuring our own UniCredit people and a live panel discussion to showcase how our corporate clients and stakeholders live DE&I to further empower communities to progress. During the event, the first ever Global DE&I Awards were presented, identifying 3 best practices implemented across the Group: Special Risk Excellence Force; Courageous Voices – Accountability & Speak Up; and Unconscious Bias Journey – Conscious Caring. The start of the week was inaugurated by a special performance of Esagramma Symphony Orchestra, whose members are both professional musicians and youths with disabilities playing side by side.

Furthermore, driven by Employee Resource Groups, our colleagues across UniCredit connected with one another through more than 40 dedicated events in all our countries, engaging in conversations with Top management and external experts on eye-opening topics, exchanging personal experiences and sharing inspiring real-life stories of our colleagues with aim to better understand and respect each other's differences.

Finally, the week-long celebration concluded with the Financial Times naming UniCredit as one of “Europe’s Diversity Leaders 2023” in its latest independent survey following over 300,000 internal and external stakeholders evaluating companies on general diversity, ethnicity, LGBTQAI+, age and disability. In the last 12 months we have done good progress, reaching 57% of female hiring on all levels of our organizing, while 46% of our Group Executive Committee is now female. At the same time, thanks to our diverse workforce and presence across Europe, our international mindset reach 57%.*

While DE&I Week may be over, our journey towards creating a more positive and inclusive working environment continues.

At UniCredit, we are committed to living Diversity, Equity and Inclusion every day, knowing that this is everyone’s responsibility.

Only by setting the example and empowering one another, can we be the change we truly wish to see in order to Win. The Right Way. Together.
