UniCredit and Filarmonica della Scala together again for the 2026 season in Italy and abroad
On Monday, 19 January 2026, the 44th Concert Season of the Filarmonica della Scala begins, proudly supported by UniCredit as Main Partner. The programme features a rich blend of innovation and tradition, showcasing musical excellence, artistic diversity, and a strong focus on emerging talent.
This season welcomes internationally renowned artists and rising stars such as violinist María Dueñas, conductor Marie Jacquot, pianist Alexandre Kantorow, and trombonist Jörgen van Rijen. Esteemed conductors including Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Fabio Luisi, Lorenzo Viotti and Michele Mariotti will also take the podium.
The opening concert will see Riccardo Chailly conducting works by Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev. Maestro Myung-Whun Chung (30 March), Honorary Conductor of the Filarmonica, will lead a programme featuring Beethoven and Brahms. Also warmly welcomed is the return of Fabio Luisi (23 February).
Among the prominent figures on the international music scene: María Dueñas, a Spanish violinist born in 2002 and already a rising star of classical music, will make her debut at La Scala with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich conducted by Paavo Järvi (11 May); Augustin Hadelich, acclaimed worldwide, will perform Sibelius concerto for the Milanese audience under the baton of Riccardo Chailly, in his second appearance of the season (18 October).
Female representation is notably strong this season: French conductor Marie Jacquot makes her La Scala debut with a programme that highlights Antoine Tamestit's viola (25 May); Korean violinist Bomsori Kim, a rising star of the Deutsche Grammophon catalogue, brings the rarely performed Wieniawski Concerto, conducted by Finnish maestro Santtu-Matias Rouvali (9 November).
Also in 2026, UniCredit continues to support Filarmonica della Scala in a series of projects and activities aimed at improving the quality of life in the communities in which the Group operates.
The 2026 Season will include charitable and educational initiatives, including "Open Reharsals", which allow the public to attend the dress rehearsals of concerts, while contributing to philanthropic causes, and "Sound, Music!", which will continue to spread the passion for music among young people, bringing them closer to the art of music and stimulating their creativity and talent.
UniCredit also invests in the training of young European musicians through scholarships "Maura Giorgetti". The top candidates in each category will be awarded a scholarship worth €4,000. Also up for grabs is the UniCredit Award, an additional financial prize of €1,000, which UniCredit will present to the youngest musician admitted to the final round, scheduled for 3 December 2025.
Finally, the Filarmonica della Scala will continue to enchant the public with the traditional "Concerto per Milano", taking place on June in Piazza Duomo.
