UniCredit strengthens further its management structure

The Board of Directors of UniCredit Group during today's meeting decided, in the context of the broader project of strengthening the managerial framework, to enlarge the Management Committee, a collegial body that includes the CEO and his Deputies as well as the heads of the Business Divisions and Competence Lines of the Group.

More specifically the following executives will become part of the Management Committee, being also appointed Senior Executive Vice Presidents:

        - Marina Natale, named Head of the Private Banking Division by the Board of Directors.
        - Jan Krzysztof Bielecki, CEO of Bank Pekao;
        - Gabriele Piccini, Head of the Retail Division Italy

Marina Natale, who was until now in charge of the M&A & Business Development department, reports in her new role to the Deputy CEO, Sergio Ermotti, and succeeds Dario Frigerio, who will focus on his role as Head of the Asset Management Division and CEO of Pioneer Global Asset Management, reporting directly to the Group CEO Alessandro Profumo. Frigerio will therefore be able to concentrate fully on the further development of Asset Management, a strategic business for the Group, thus consolidating the excellent results achieved over the past years.

Curricula Vitae

Marina Natale has been head of the M&A & Business Development Group since 1998. Born in Saronno (Varese), she is married with one son. She holds a degree in Business Economics from the University Cattolica of Milan. She started her career in the Studies and Planning office of UniCredit Group (then Credito Italiano) in January 1988. After having been in charge of a series of projects in the Control and Planning Office and the Strategic Holdings Area, as head of the M&A & Business Development department, she managed the M&A operations of the Group and was responsible for more than 50 transactions worth an estimated 60 billion Euros. In particular, she has recently been responsible for the combination with HVB Group and the merger with Capitalia, overseeing all integration/reorganization processes that followed.

Jan Krzysztof Bielecki has been CEO of Bank Pekao since October 2003.  Married with two children, Bielecki started his career in 1973 at the University of Gdansk as a lecturer in the Economics Department, a position that he had to leave in 1981 due to his anti-communist political activities and for having participated in the historical strike in the Gdansk shipyard.  He was Prime Minister of Poland from January to December of 1991. His government, after having successfully dealt with the reduction of foreign debt and the Membership Agreement of Poland to the EEC, resigned after the elections of December 1991. Bielecki has also been President of the Liberal-Democratic Party and was Head of the Polish Parliamentary Delegation in the European Parliament until June 1992, when he was nominated Minister for European Integration. In December 1993 he was appointed as the representative of Poland in the Board of Directors of the London-based EBRD, a position he has held until September 2003.

Gabriele Piccini has been Head of the Italian Retail Division since 2008. Born in Milan, married with two children, Piccini started working in the UniCredit Group (then Credito Italiano) in 1978. In January 2001, he took on the position of Deputy General Manager of the CRT Bank, and in 2003 he became Head of the Sales Department of the newly created UniCredit Banca. In 2005 he took over as General Manager. Since May 6th, 2008, he has been CEO of UniCredit Banca and after the incorporation of Capitalia he became head of the Retail Division Italy, which is in charge of all product and services offers for families and small business all over Italy, distributed through the franchise of UniCredit Banca, BIPOP-Carire, UniCredit Banca di Roma and Banco di Sicilia.
