UniCredit has been named Best Bank in Italy, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, and Croatia by Global Finance in its 33rd annual World's Best Banks awards.
The recognition highlights UniCredit's strong financial performance, disciplined asset and liability management, and continued progress in digital innovation and AI. According to the publication, the winners were selected based on a combination of rigorous quantitative metrics, including asset growth, profitability, geographic reach, strategic initiatives, and product innovation, as well as qualitative assessments from industry experts, analysts, and consultants.
These awards also reinforce the bank's momentum as it enters a new phase with UniCredit Unlimited - the Group's bold new strategy aimed at accelerating quality top‑line growth and rethinking the bank's operating model through technology, AI, and an uncompromising focus on clients and people.
Remo Taricani, Deputy Head of Italy, UniCredit, comments: "We are honoured to see further recognition of our work as we continued to accelerate in 2025 - delivering sustainable, profitable, capital-light growth across Italy. Awards like this reflect the dedication of our people and the strength of relationships with clients, who are at the centre of everything we do and whose success is always aligned with ours. As we embark on our new UniCredit Unlimited plan, we are looking to push the boundaries again, and further than ever before, redefining what a bank can do."
Teodora Petkova, Head of UniCredit for CEE adds: "I am incredibly proud of our teams in Austria and across CEE for earning these prestigious accolades. What unites us is a shared culture that embraces transformation, invests in people, and leverages technology and AI to create real value for our clients every day. UniCredit Unlimited reinforces this mindset. It pushes us to accelerate our growth while rethinking how we operate, collaborate, and innovate across the region"
