Expert insights into challenges and opportunities for Financial Institutions in Europe
The 4th edition of the Financial Institutions Conference by UniCredit took place on 8 and 9 June 2021. The event brought together more than 400 delegates from predominantly European Financial Institutions.
UniCredit was pleased to welcome José Manuel Campa Fernández, Chairperson of the European Banking Authority, Gert Jan Koopman, Director General of DG Budget at the European Commission, and Peter Praet, Former member of the ECB Executive Board and Chief Economist to the 2021 Financial Institutions Conference. In their keynote speeches and subsequent interviews with Adeline de Metz, Head of Group Regulatory Affairs at UniCredit, and Erik F. Nielsen, Group Chief Economist and Global Head of CIB Research, they shared their views on regulation of Europe's financial industry, the road to economic recovery in light of the EU's recovery program, the ECB's monetary policy, the acceleration of ESG-related issuance as well as investment opportunities within this dynamic environment.
A panel discussion on "Regulation, Bank Funding and Capital Management 4.0" with Sergio Castella, Head of ALM, Treasury & Funding at Caixabank, Katarzyna Kapeller, Head of Asset Liability Management at Raiffeisen Bank International, Sebastian Pirro, Portfolio Manager at Algebris Investments and Alessandro Brusadelli, Head of Group Finance at UniCredit as speakers and moderated by Isaac Alonso, Head of FI Origination at UniCredit provided valuable insights about funding and investing during the pandemic and in the post-Covid recovery.
