Two concerts at Wiener Musikverein on 29 and 30 January 2018
On its international tour through Europe, Filarmonica della Scala performed two extraordinary concerts at Wiener Musikverein in Vienna. On the 29th of January the orchestra presented a Russian-themed evening with renditions of Pjotr Iljitsch Tschaikowski, Symphony Nr. 2 in c-Moll, op. 17, Dmitri Schostakowitsch, Suite from the opera "Lady Macbeth von Mzensk", op. 29a and Igor Strawinsky, Petruschka (Version 1947).
Led by Riccardo Chailly and with the leading soloist Denis Matsuev the orchestra treated the audience on the 30th of January to renditions of Gioacchino Rossini, Overture from the opera "La gazza ladra", Edvard Grieg, Concerto for piano and orchestra a-Moll, op 16 and Pjotr Iljitsch Tschaikowski, Symphony Nr. 4 f-Moll, op 36.
UniCredit also had the opportunity to invite an audience of of 300 people, including more than 100 students and 75 guests of Caritas, to a public dress rehearsal.
UniCredit has been supporting the orchestra as a partner since 2000 and in 2003 became its main partner.
