The fifth edition of the Filarmonica della Scala's open rehearsal program was recently announced at the Palazzo Marino in the presence of Milan's Mayor Giuliano Pisapia and Federico Ghizzoni.
This popular initiative, funded by the UniCredit Foundation, makes it possible for audiences who might not otherwise be able to attend performances at La Scala to experience rehearsals held by the orchestra prior to several of its regular concerts.
The program includes five open rehearsals directed by legendary conductors. Admission to the first rehearsal will be free of charge and open to the public. Ticket proceeds from the remaining four performances will be donated to four non-profit organizations that provide services in the Milan region to the elderly: Caritas Ambrosiana, Auser Milano, Progetto Arca and Seneca.
