On Thursday, August 2, the program of the next Lyric Festival which, in the year of its one hundred years celebration, sees the return on the scene of Placido Domingo, Honorary Artistic Director of the Festival, was presented in preview.
The Festival will open on 14 June 2013 with Aida, one of the Arena's most-loved operas, and will close on 8 September. Besides Aida, presented both in the new show by La Fura dels Baus and in the 1913's staging, the program schedule includes Nabucco, La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Rigoletto e Roméo et Juliette.
To celebrate the centenarian jubilee, the Festival will also stage a gala with Domingo and Harding and the Messa da Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi in the year of his birth bicentenary.
