On 20 March Fabio Luisi will conduct the Filarmonica in favour of UNHCR for the emergency in Ukraine. An extraordinary open rehearsal, part of the charity project launched on 13 March. UniCredit thus continues to support great music of the La Scala Filarmonica while at the same time making a concrete contribution to those fleeing the conflict.

After the halt since February 2020 caused by the global pandemic, the 11th edition of the Open Rehearsals of the Filarmonica della Scala resumed on 13 March, with an evening in support of the Fondazione Visitatrici per la Maternità Ada Bolchini Dell'Acqua Onlus. The project will continue on Sunday 10 April with a rehearsal conducted by Myung-Whun Chung in support of the PIM Pio Istituto di Maternità Onlus and on Sunday 23 October, with a concert in aid of the LILT Lega Italiana per la Lotta contro i Tumori Milano Monza Brianza APS with Riccardo Chailly on the podium and Pablo Ferrandez on the cello.

 

The eagerly awaited charity cycle, which has been organised for over 10 years with the support of UniCredit and UniCredit Foundation, has also included a special Open Rehearsal for Peace on 20 March at 6.30 pm. Maestro Fabio Luisi will conduct the musicians in a performance of Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 in C minor and the entire proceeds of the evening, dedicated to the emergency in Ukraine, will be donated to the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

 

Once again, great music becomes an important tool for inclusion, where the audience able to witness the staging of a grand concert while at the same time contributing to concretely supporting those fleeing the conflict. In addition to buying tickets, it will be possible to make a direct contribution to support UNHCR and its work in Ukraine.
