“Unveiling Excellence”: the new kit of the Italian Paralympic Athletics National Team unveiled, with UniCredit as Jersey Sponsor

On Friday, 15 May, the event “Unveiling Excellence” took place, dedicated to the presentation of the new official jersey of the Paralympic Athletics National Team: a symbolic moment that puts identity, belonging and shared values at its heart, in line with a partnership born from a common vision of sport as a heritage of inclusion, resilience, respect and growth.

A symbol that speaks of commitment, community and equal opportunities
During the meeting, moderated by journalist Simona Rolandi, the jersey was described not only as a technical and representative element, but also as a tangible sign of a journey that celebrates the talents, stories and ambitions of a movement that continues to grow.
The presentation is part of the renewed agreement between UniCredit and FISPES, aimed at supporting the Federation’s activities and the entire Paralympic sport ecosystem—from events and local projects to the promotion and development of young talent.

Opening the morning were the remarks of FISPES President Mariano Salvatore and Marco Giunio De Sanctis, President of the Italian Paralympic Committee, who underscored the value of a synergy built over time and now further strengthened, with the goal of supporting athletes in both their sporting and personal journeys. This was followed by institutional greetings from Alessandro Onorato, Councilor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of Roma Capitale.

For UniCredit, Stefano Gallo, Head of Territorial Development, UniCredit Italy, took the floor. Reiterating the deeper meaning of the partnership, he stated:

“We are thrilled to be FISPES’s ‘travel companions’ and to have also taken on the role of Jersey Sponsor of the Italian Paralympic Athletics National Team, supporting it in all the major national and international competitions. UniCredit firmly believes in sport as a repository of values, from which each of us can and must draw inspiration to create an increasingly united community, and as a powerful vehicle for inclusion and equal opportunities. Our partnership with FISPES aims to provide tangible support for the sporting events organised by the Federation and for the development of young talent.”

A message fully consistent with the path begun in 2021 and strongly renewed for 2026–2027, in support of Italian Paralympic Athletics and its protagonists.

At the heart of the event was the focus dedicated to the athletes, “The stories behind the jersey”, featuring a dynamic format of short contributions that gave voice to different experiences and aspirations, united by the same determination.

The following athletes took part:
Oney Tapia, one of the most recognisable faces of Italian paralympic athletics, who spoke about what it means to wear the Azzurri jersey and represent the country in major competitions.
Antonella Inga, who shared emotions and international goals, also highlighting the role and strength of women in paralympic sport.
Marco Cicchetti, who emphasised the daily work behind performances and the importance of federal support in the growth journey.
Giuliana Chiara Filippi, who highlighted the desire to improve and the value of setting an example for the new generations.
Nicolò Pirosu, a promising emerging talent, who spoke about aspirations and the future, linking the new jersey to a horizon of opportunities.

The official unveiling of the jersey marked the culminating moment: the athletes took the stage wearing the kit, in a symbolic passage that brings together passion and momentum towards the next challenges.
