On 4 and 5 July, the Carlo Zecchini Olympic Stadium in Grosseto hosted the Italian Para Athletics Championships, one of the most important events on the calendar of FISPES (Italian Federation of Paralympic and Experimental Sports). As Official Sponsor of the Federation and Jersey Sponsor of the Italian Para Athletics National Team, UniCredit took part in the event with an initiative dedicated to sharing the stories of the competition and the people who made it possible.
On Saturday, 4 July, the UniCredit area located near the medal ceremony zone hosted “Trackside Stories”, a project developed in collaboration with Radioimmaginaria to give a voice to the experiences of athletes, guides, volunteers, coaches and event staff who contributed to the success of the Championships.
The initiative was created to highlight the wealth of relationships, expertise and dedication that define the Paralympic movement through authentic storytelling centred on people and their experiences. Throughout the day, Radioimmaginaria produced audio and video interviews directly from the trackside, capturing the atmosphere of the event and collecting first-hand accounts from its key protagonists.
Adding a creative dimension to the project, a live illustrator produced original artwork inspired by the athletes, creating personalised keepsakes of the event and transforming the day's moments and emotions into illustrations that reflected its spirit.
The initiative had been introduced the previous day during the official press conference for the Championships, where UniCredit reaffirmed the value of its partnership with FISPES and its commitment to supporting projects that promote participation, inclusion and equal opportunities through sport.
"The partnership between UniCredit and FISPES is built on shared values that find a tangible expression in Paralympic sport. With 'Trackside Stories', we wanted to help tell the story of an event of great sporting and human value by placing people, their experiences and the contribution they make every day to the growth of the Paralympic movement at the heart of the narrative," said Stefano Gallo, Head of Territorial Development at UniCredit.
Through this initiative, UniCredit reaffirmed its commitment to supporting FISPES by helping raise the profile of an event that represents an important opportunity for sporting competition, participation and inclusion, while promoting a culture that recognises and values the talent, dedication and contribution of every individual.
