Wednesday 30 July 2025
The UniCredit Art Collection is a living resource with treasures that reflect the Group's Pan-European identity. Among the most interesting personalities, Flavio Favelli stands out, a contemporary artist with a strongly distinctive and identifiable style.
The UniCredit Art Collection is one of the largest corporate collections in Europe, comprising tens of thousands of various assets, from ancient archaeological finds to classical and contemporary works of art, as a result of the artistic choices and passion for art that has always characterised UniCredit. Particular attention has been paid to promoting young and emerging artists from the countries in which our Group is present, increasing their presence in the Collection of contemporary art works combining conceptual art and pop art.
We strive to make art part of life for wider public, so we asked some of the artists to explain what art is and what it means to them.
Born in Florence, Italy, in 1967, Flavio Favelli is a contemporary Italian artist whose production is highly influenced by the advertising images of the 1980s, which are repeated in an almost obsessive and manic manner in many of his artworks.
In his collages, sculptures and installations he mostly uses objects of furniture and common use, chandeliers, tables, trays, cans of soft drinks, which bring the mind back to the family and social culture of his years.
His expression is a combination of conceptual art and pop art. This hybrid soul makes him an artist with a strongly distinctive and identifiable style.
“For me, art is a fence, a garden, an exception that proves the rule.”– Flavio Favelli
