Aurelio Maccario started his career in 2000 when he joined the Fondo Interbancario di Tutela dei Depositi (FITD) as banking analyst.
He joined UniCredit in 2002 as an economist in the Research department of the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Division. He covered different roles until 2005 when he was appointed Chief Eurozone Economist.
In 2010, he became Head of Group Strategic Planning, within the Planning Finance & Administration area, directly supervising also the CEE Division strategy out of Vienna.
In 2013 he moved to the Group Risk Management Division, taking over the responsibility for the Pillar 2 related activities (Risk Appetite, ICAAP, Stress test, credit strategies) and the monitoring of the consolidated credit risk profile.
Since the beginning of 2015, Aurelio is Executive Vice President, responsible for Group Regulatory Affairs. In his capacity, he supports the CEO in the definition of the Group regulatory strategy and manages the relations with the European Central Bank, the Single Resolution Board, the Bank of Italy and all the other competent authorities.
He is member of the Supervisory Board of Zagrebačka Banka, Croatia.
