Meet Markus Spahn

Global Payments Solutions, UniCredit Group
 

My journey with UniCredit started over 30 years ago in Frankfurt, and it’s been an exciting path ever since. After studying at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and spending time in the UK for a language program, I discovered my passion for strategy and international business.

 

Since then, I’ve worked in Munich, Austria, and across Central & Eastern Europe—meeting incredible colleagues and learning the real power of collaboration. Success rarely comes from rigid structures; it’s about breaking silos and building strong connections across countries, divisions, and teams.

 

 

Today, I’m part of the Payments Solutions Sales Team in Munich, coordinating international Cash Management tenders from corporate clients. These range from product info requests to complex, tailor-made solutions across all UniCredit markets. My role lets me do what I love: simplify and structure complex topics, connect the right people, and make things happen. Recently, I stepped out of my comfort zone to take on an operations manager role while continuing my current responsibilities. It’s another opportunity to learn, adapt, and keep the journey exciting.

What excites me most? Being part of UniCredit’s global Cash Management family—where teamwork truly matters. Thanks to our amazing team in Germany and our international community, we support Sales Specialists and Coverage colleagues throughout the entire RFP (Request for Proposal) process, delivering the best outcomes for clients. Together, we create solutions that position us as the strategic partner of choice in transaction banking.

 

Collaboration and diversity are key drivers of our success, and I actively support this through ENRICH, our internal network that celebrates cultural heritage. The better we understand each other, the stronger we work as one team.Working at UniCredit gives me the chance to experience global collaboration, learn continuously, and balance work with life.

 

Outside the office, I recharge with travel, running, hiking, biking, paragliding, and yoga - keeping me energised and focused.

Meet Veronica Cundari

Client Strategies, UniCredit Group
 

My name is Veronica and I’m part of the Client Strategies Team at UniCredit’s headquarters in Milan. My mission is simple: help the Commercial Network unlock its full potential and deliver the best for our clients. That means creating solutions, services, and experiences that bring real value every day.

 

What I love most about my role is the big-picture view: shaping a strategy that best meets our clients’ needs, while embracing digital innovation, and embedding sustainability—all to make their experience better and strengthen UniCredit’s position as a trusted partner.

My journey started with the UniCredit Graduate Program, an incredible experience full of learning opportunities across the Group. One highlight? Meeting our CEO and pitching ideas to shape the future of the bank. That’s how IMPACT4U was born—a project designed to create meaningful social impact by helping non-profits overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

 

That initiative was a turning point for me: it connected me to real community challenges and showed how we can turn them into opportunities. It also helped me grow my skills while living UniCredit’s Value of Caring.

 

This is also what motivates me most at UniCredit - the feeling of being an active agent of change—not just executing tasks, but shaping transformation through ideas, commitment, and purpose.

 

I believe learning is a lifelong journey that never stops. One of my most enriching experiences was attending UniCredit Foundation’s Summer School at the London School of Economics. Immersed in an international environment, I saw firsthand how cultural diversity accelerates learning.

 

Outside work, I love exploring new places, moving to the rhythm of Latin music, and stepping onto the stage for theatre performances. These passions spark creativity and give me the energy to bring fresh ideas into my professional life.
