Meet Georgiana-Raluca Tanase, People & Culture Business Partner, UniCredit S.p.A. - Romania Branch
I’m Georgiana-Raluca Tanase from Romania, and I’ve been part of UniCredit since 2008. I currently serve as a People & Culture Business Partner for UniCredit S.p.A. - Romania Branch.
My mission is to foster a positive work environment where people feel empowered and supported. I believe that when colleagues feel valued, they perform at their best—and that’s what drives organisational success. I’m passionate about bringing strategies to life and making a real impact. One recent example is leading a well-being initiative that significantly boosted both employee satisfaction and team morale.
My academic background in Education, followed by a master’s degree in Human Resource Management, laid the foundation for my deep interest in people development. Even though my career began in Operations, I embraced each opportunity—working with clients across Italy, Germany, and Austria, and moving through roles, including Testing, Team Leadership, Office Management, Employer Branding, and Business Support. These diverse experiences gave me a holistic understanding of business dynamics and human interaction, which now greatly enriches my work in People & Culture.
Resilience is my top strength. Whether dealing with tight deadlines or unexpected challenges, I stay focused, organised, and collaborative. I’ve learnt that challenging moments often lead to growth—both personally and as a team. A meaningful moment in my journey was the immense support I received from my colleagues during a time of personal loss, which reaffirmed UniCredit’s caring Culture.
A recent highlight was attending the Culture Champions workshop in Milan. It was inspiring to engage with colleagues from across Europe and reflect on our shared Values of Integrity, Ownership, and Caring. These Values aren’t just part of our mission—they shape how we work every day. At UniCredit, I’ve found a dynamic, inclusive environment where continuous learning and cross-functional collaboration are encouraged. What I value most is the opportunity to grow, inspire, and be inspired by the amazing people I work with.
Outside of work, I enjoy quality time with loved ones, wellness activities like yoga, reading, and travel. I believe in making every day meaningful—both at work and in life.

Meet Andrea La Barbera, Operations Management Supervisor at UniCredit Direct
I’m Andrea La Barbera, and I’ve been with UniCredit since 2019, joining right after completing my degree in Management Engineering. I started at UniCredit Direct as a Junior Consultant, supporting clients through digital channels and quickly discovering how impactful active listening is in building trust and offering effective advice.
From the start, I benefited from UniCredit’s strong focus on training and development—it's a place where talent is nurtured, and future leaders are shaped. A key milestone in my journey was becoming a team leader, responsible for guiding a group of 14 colleagues, many of them new to the role. Coaching and watching them grow remains one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
Today, as an Operations Management Supervisor, I lead the Lombardia hub and support the Area Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring service quality, resolving client issues, and supporting commercial performance. I’m especially passionate about helping people thrive—developing tailored growth plans and creating space for individuals to shine.
My strongest skill is coaching—I find a real purpose in helping others build their skills and confidence. I also manage our training programmes, because I believe that knowledge builds both confidence and capability. This year, I joined the Banking Academy, UniCredit’s free financial education programme, to support individuals and businesses across Italy—a great way to contribute beyond our day-to-day roles.
What sets UniCredit Direct apart is its dynamic and collaborative environment, where continuous learning and feedback are core values. Clear career paths—from Junior Consultant to Supervisor—make it an exciting place to grow.
Outside work, I recharge by taking long walks around Milan and spending time with friends—balance is key to staying energised and effective.
