International Education Day: Unlocking Potential Together
Friday 23 January 2026
In a world evolving faster than ever — where the only certainty is unpredictability — education is more than learning. It becomes our compass, our anchor, and our springboard into the future. Through continuous learning we stay ready, resilient, and empowered to shape what comes next.
On International Education Day, UniCredit proudly joins the global call to recognise education as a fundamental right and a powerful catalyst for both personal and collective progress.
This year’s theme, “The power of youth in co‑creating education,” resonates strongly with us. Young people are not only beneficiaries of education; they are architects of the future. With more than half of the global population and an increasing share of UniCredit’s workforce under 30, their voice is essential in shaping a future‑ready bank and a more equitable society
Let’s shape the future of learning — together.
This Education Day, take a moment to share what inspires you — and discover what motivates others.

» For our people
Through UniCredit Corporate University, more than 300 learning paths, rich PLUS digital content, and Group-wide initiatives such as the AI Track Certification, we make future‑ready skills accessible to all.
In 2025 alone, we delivered 36 training hours per employee — three hours more than in 2024 — reaching approximately 2.7 million training hours across the Group (+200k hours vs 2024).
» For our clients
We bring together our best specialists to share knowledge in finance, banking, entrepreneurship, ESG, digital and more — helping businesses and individuals across Europe grow sustainably.
» For youth
This year’s theme strongly aligns with UniCredit Foundation’s mission to tackle educational inequalities early and to empower young people not just as beneficiaries, but as active participants in shaping their own learning journeys.
In 2025, this commitment came to life through impactful initiatives across Europe, including the Edu‑Fund Platform, which supports programs addressing educational poverty among students aged 11–19. Alongside its pan-European efforts, the Foundation works with a broad network of local non-profit organisations in all countries where UniCredit operates, ensuring support is tailored to community needs and delivered in a way that strengthens educational opportunities at the local level.
UniCredit Foundation also continues its collaboration with Teach For All and Junior Achievement Europe to confront systemic inequalities at scale, while investing in multidisciplinary research to tackle complex educational challenges. Through its first Multidisciplinary Research Grant on Education, the Foundation awarded €220,000 to the STAY project, which focuses on reducing school absenteeism and dropout rates among adolescents by strengthening social skills and peer integration within classrooms.
UniCredit Foundation continues to collaborate with Teach For All and Junior Achievement Europe to address systemic inequalities, while investing in research such as Beyond Compulsory Education in Europe to better understand how young people transition into further studies and labor market.
Education is not a one‑time milestone — it is lifelong.
And we are committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn, evolve, and thrive.
Education unlocks potential.
Together, we unlock progress.
