Partnerships in the Field of Music
A commitment to increasing people's appreciation of music
UniCredit has always supported music, with a particular focus on its classical forms, because we believe it is vital to the social and economic development of our communities.
Through numerous partnerships with leading international orchestras, we produce projects that bring music to a new and broader public, supporting events that blend classical forms with more recent musical idioms.
We also develop and sponsor projects for musical education and in support of young musicians.
Music is an ancient art form, with the power to unite different cultures. Naturally, as an international group, we prioritize support for this essential mode of artistic expression.
Filarmonica della Scala
UniCredit has supported Milan's Filarmonica della Scala orchestra since 2000, becoming its Main Partner in 2003.
Our engagement with the Filarmonica has included sponsoring seasons of musical performances, national and international tours, as well as the Open Filarmonica projects.
UniCredit and the Filarmonica share the same goals: we are always on the lookout for new and original ways to bring music to a wider public, involve younger generations in the creation and enjoyment of music, increase the general public's appreciation and love of music and support social projects that contribute to our communities.
One of the ways in which we accomplish this is through the "Open Filarmonica" series of initiatives.
The Open Filarmonica projects
• "Prove Aperte" - Since the 2009/2010 season, Filarmonica and UniCredit, with the support of the UniCredit Foundation, have promoted a project that allows the public to attend rehearsals for a number of concerts during the season. The proceeds of these evenings are then donated entirely to selected nonprofit associations operating in Milan. This programme has raised around 1 million euros for various non-profit organisations in the city.
• "Sound, Music!" - Since the 2010-11 season, the Sound, Music! education project has directly engaged children, helping to increase their appreciation for classical music. Each year, participating schools in Milan take part in music and movement workshops leading up to a final performance dedicated to children.
• The "Concert for Milan in Piazza Duomo" - Since the 2012-13 season, UniCredit and the Filarmonica have been proud to stage the "Concert for Milan", featuring the Filarmonica live in Piazza Duomo free of charge. With an average audience of 50,000 people, this project successfully brings music at its highest level to a broad audience and has become the most popular free classical music event in Italy.
• Scholarships for young musicians, winners of the annual announcement by Filarmonica - aimed at improving their musical education.

Arena di Verona
The Partnership between UniCredit and Arena Foundation started in 1994, when the Bank became a Major Partner of the Arena Opera Festival, one of the best-known musical events in the world.
UniCredit's relationship with the Foundation is deeply connected with the development of the electronic ticketing service and the beginning of e-commerce in this business.
It is one of the most important partnerships that offers benefits for clients and prospects to experience extraordinary opera performances in this ancient roman amphitheater.
In 2014, UniCredit contributed to the restauration of the Arena.
"In the heart of music": this is the name of the Summer Festival 2020, a series of event-nights to be held in a completely new Arenian setting with the stage positioned in the center of the immense audience and the audience well-spaced and distributed exclusively on the large stands.
From 25 July to 29 August the program consisting of 11 shows, including Gala and Symphonic Concerts, will see many Italian and international stars alternate on stage.
The inaugural evening of the Summer Festival - 25 July - will represent a great tribute to Italian art and artists: Francesco Meli, Saimir Pirgu, Roberto Aronica, Fabio Armiliato, Barbara Frittoli, Eleonora Buratto, Luca Salsi, Leo Nucci, Daniela Barcelona, Michele Pertusi, Katia Ricciarelli for a total of 31 only Italian artists.
Arena of Verona is already looking ahead and has rescheduled the original Festival scheduled for 2020 to 2021, enriching it with many very high-profile goodies, such as the return of Riccardo Muti to Italy.
In fact, the Maestro will inaugurate the Festival on June 19, 2021, conducting the queen opera "Aida", in concert, for the 150th anniversary of the first performance in Cairo in 1871.
More information on Arena di Verona Summer Festival 2020 and Festival Lirico 2021 are available on Arena website www.arena.it and its social media channels.
Bank Austria is proud to be a long-term partner of the Musikverein of Vienna, one of the world's most famous concert halls. Recently, this long lasting cooperation was turned into a premium partnership.
As the center of Vienna's thriving musical culture, the Musikverein is the city's premium venue for international touring companies.
The Musikverein was built by the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde, on a piece of land given by Emperor Franz Joseph, and it was opened on January 6, 1870. A historic organ was installed in it by the Austrian firm Rieger, in 1907.
The Musikverein is famous for its acoustics and is considered to be one of the five finest venues in the world. It is the home to the Wiener Philharmoniker (Vienna Philharmonic).
Every year, the Vienna New Year's Concert is held here.
Bavarian State Opera
For more than 50 years, HVB has cooperated closely with the Bavarian State Opera.
The most prominent example of this strong relationship is UniCredit Festival Night, an event that highlights artists and ensembles drawn from the Bavarian State Opera.
With more than 15,000 attendees every year, UniCredit Festival Night is considered one of the most important summer events in the city of Munich.
