In June 2013, UniCredit's YCYP initiative was singled out for "Special Mention" at the European CSR Award Scheme.
YCYP involves UniCredit employees in the selection of projects that receive support from the Foundation through special online voting campaigns in the countries where we operate.
The reason cited for YCYP receiving Special Mention was: " ... The initiative contributes to spreading the culture of social cohesion both within the bank— raising the awareness of employees on issues of exclusion and alienation—and outside, allowing numerous social enterprises to receive support and realize significant and effective solidarity activities."
Launched in 2012, the new European CSR Award Scheme aims at encouraging excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility partnerships, emphasizing programs that are based on a collaboration model and geared toward promoting sustainability through innovation as a tool in all business sectors.
Before the final awards ceremony of the European CSR Award Scheme, a number of national ceremonies were organized in various European countries; 63 winners were selected from 31 European networks and organizations in 30 countries to represent the best CSR initiatives.
