In a media report yesterday, a senior employee of UniCredit was quoted making references to a conversations with Mr. Jens Weidmann, governor of Deutsche Bundesbank. UniCredit would like to clarify that there has been no recent interaction between the employee and Mr. Weidmann and the comments attributed to Mr. Weidmann by the employee are incorrect and unsubstantiated. UniCredit Group has unreservedly apologised to Mr. Weidmann and the Bundesbank for this unfortunate incident.
