UniCredit included in 2011 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes
Starting from September 19th 2011 UniCredit will be an index component of Dow Jones Sustainability World and Europe.
SAM, primary sustainability rating provider, announced the results of its corporate sustainability assessment, which is the base of Dow Jones indexes annual review.
According to SAM rating UniCredit achieved a total score of 78 out of 100, above the banking industry group's average score, which totaled 53, confirming to be among the most sustainable companies in Europe and worldwide (minimum score threshold to be included was 74).
Significant improvements for UniCredit have been achieved in all three dimensions assessed: Economic, Environmental and Social.
The areas assessed with best score performance are those related to risk management, compliance and stakeholder engagement.
Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes follow a best-in-class approach, including companies across all industries that outperform in numerous sustainability metrics.
