With new "Kidsmile-Me" iPhone APP of UniCredit users can create own 3D "Morphed" images and do good

  •  As part of the 'Make a kid smile' initiative, the "KIDSMILE-ME" iphone-app is set to become a favorite with graphic enthusiast iPhone users, who can upload their own smiling photo and then use a 3D tool within the app to morph it into a distorted "KidSmile" version of themselves.
  •  Users can share their favorite KidSmiles and those who want to do good can register their data and make UniCredit, through UniCredit Foundation, support kids football projects with 10 EUR.

With the "KIDSMILE-ME" iPhone-app of UniCredit launched in April, users can create a morphed 3D image of their own face from a photo they upload from their camera roll or their iPhone cam. Luís Figo as UniCredit Ambassador donated a picture with his smile to present the application. Photos morphed using the "KIDSMILE-ME" app become exaggerated versions of the original and also have the effect of making the person look younger  -  a complicated artwork and programming process.

Photos are mapped onto a screen built on a 3D wireframe 'mesh' and a series of markers enables the user to alter the shape and dimensions of his or her eyes, nose, mouth and chin. Once this process is complete, the app sends the original photo to a remote server and the user receives the morphed 3D version in return. The versatility offered by the marker screen gives users the opportunity to experiment by uploading a new photo and morphing it in a different way. In this way they will be able to create their own unique "KidSmile" style.

The morphed photos can be shared with friends, colleagues and relatives via e-mail or social networking platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, encouraging users to compare styles and swap ideas.
And those who want to do good can use the "save to support" function, register their data and make UniCredit support the "Open Fun Football Schools", a social inclusion project that promotes fairness, team spirit and mutual respect among children, leveraging on football schools with 10 EUR.

About "Make a kid smile" initiative

Under the motto "Make a kid smile" UniCredit calls on everyone to join the Group in bringing the unifying spirit of football to kids. For every supporter who send a smiling picture to a dedicated website, UniCredit Foundation, the corporate philanthropy body of UniCredit, contribute 10 Euros - up to a maximum amount of 200.000 EUR - to the "Open Fun Football Schools", a project that promotes the values of fairness, team spirit and mutual respect among children living in divided societies. The "Open Fun Football Schools" is a humanitarian initiative led by an international charity that targets boys and girls from 7 to 12 years old using joyful games and the pedagogical "Fun Football concept" as tools to stimulate peaceful co-existence, gender equality, tolerance and social cohesion in countries and communities affected by war and ethnic conflicts.

The campaign can be actively supported until 29 May, 2011, by uploading a smiling picture on www.make-a-kid-smile.eu. The "KIDSMILE-ME"-App converts the picture in a smiling face and after registration becomes part of a gallery, called the KidSmile Arena. As the official UniCredit Ambassador for the UEFA Champions League sponsorship and generous fundraiser, Luís Figo strongly endorses the campaign with a video and by providing himself a picture with a smile.
