On a tour featuring two of the most famous operas by Giuseppe Verdi, Aida and Don Carlo, UniCredit Group is proud to accompany Milan's Teatro alla Scala to Japan.
Thanks to an agreement signed last May with the Teatro alla Scala Foundation, UniCredit Group - one of the largest banking and financial services institutions in Europe with a strong base in Western, Central and Eastern Europe - has become the musical institution's main partner for international tours for five years up to 2013. Through this partnership, the Group aims to strengthen its cultural engagement by bringing a special focus to the universal language of music.
The company's commitment to culture, which entails the strategic promotion of music and art to a broad audience, goes beyond traditional corporate sponsorship. Culture transcends national boundaries and is a key component to achieving sustainable economic and social development. That is why UniCredit Group, a European financial institution with a network of approximately 10,000 branches in 22 countries and roughly 170,000 employees, supports a diverse range of creative expression.
The Group seeks to advance new ideas, as well as to protect and promote society's shared artistic heritage. It does this through a close cooperation with numerous social and cultural entities, including foundations, public agencies, universities, academies and artists.
With the belief that the Italian "bel canto" is a pillar of European culture, UniCredit Group is proud to partner with La Scala and supports its visits to many of the world's great cities.
