UniCredit: statement on the privatization agreement of Bank Pekao
UniCredit has taken note of a press release from the Polish Ministry of State Treasury requiring UniCredit to restore compliance with a non-compete undertaking in its privatization agreement concerning Bank Pekao S.A. within one month.
UniCredit has so far not received any formal request of this nature. UniCredit has already in the past offered to discuss any relevant issues with the Polish Ministry of State Treasury and will evaluate its position when such a request is received. In any event, UniCredit does not believe that it is in breach of any undertakings.
UniCredit continues to work towards obtaining the necessary permit for the acquisition of indirect control over Bank BPH S.A. from the Banking Supervision Commission of the Polish National Bank.
