Porta Nuova is one of the largest European completed mixed-use urban redevelopments in a historical city centre. Located in the northern part of Milano city centre, Italy's most well-connected transportation hub, Porta Nuova includes 140,000 sqm of office space, located in high-rise as well as low-rise buildings that are the heart of what has become the most modern Milano business district with over 400 high-end residential units and 40,000 sqm of retail and cultural venues. Porta Nuova hosts 160,000 sqm of integrated public squares, open spaces, gardens and parks. This iconic mixed-use development has changed Milano's skyline and registers visits by more than 10 million people every year.
At the hearth of the Porta Nuova project is UniCredit Tower, the complex designed by Argentinian architect Cesar Pelli, which has received much praise for its design for its distinctive spire and use of ultra-modern materials to make an eco-sustainable building and which represents the new headquarters of UniCredit Group since September 30th, 2013.
Porta Nuova project is candidate as the Best Urban Regeneration Project at MiPIM Awards. Winning projects will be announced tomorrow, the 15th of March in Cannes.
