With the initiative "Make a Kid Smile" UniCredit supports the project that brings together children through football, underlining its commitment for the community also within UEFA Champions League Sponsorship.
For each person that take part in the initiative Make a Kid Smile UniCredit Foundation, will donate 10 Euro to the humanitarian project "Open Football Schools" (up to a maximum of 200.000 Euro).
The project concerns boys and girls from 7 to 12 years old, who will live together for five days in the sign of football and others sports. The equipment and the know-how will remain to the community in order to follow the program's aims.
"This idea shows that the social and the sport commitment are two faces of the same medal", says Maurizio Carrara, UniCredit Foundation President. "We hope that many fans will support our commitment for this important project".
In 2011 UniCredit is going to contribute to "Open Fun Football Schools" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Ukraine, providing sport equipment, and to the project introduction in Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Lithuania and Slovakia.
"We use the play, especially football, to improve the correctness, the team play and the respect between people who live in divided societies" explains Andres Levinson, project founder.
