UniCredit Foundation supports disadvantaged families in Czech Republic

UniCredit Foundation supports disadvantaged families in Czech Republic

"Learn More", the new project supported by UniCredit Foundation in the frame of Migrations Program, was presented in Prague last February 10, 2011.
Locally developed by the Czech non profit organization People in Need, the project aims to support children grown up in socially excluded environment in achieving a secondary education that will enable them to find a better place on the labour market.

"We wish that our support reaches the people as quickly and efficiently as possible" stated the Chairman of UniCredit Foundation, Maurizio Carrara. "The Foundation has been developing a large-scale Migration Program, which aims at increasing awareness and support with regard to any issues that are created by migration by way of facilitating initiatives in all the countries where UniCredit is represented".

The project, funded by UniCredit Foundation with a whole investment of € 306,000, intends to provide comprehensive support to selected families (field social works, individual teaching, etc.) and awarding unique scholarship in order to avoid early termination of studies.

"We are well aware of an increasing importance of the Corporate Social Responsibility in our Bank. We feel happy to have been able to establish cooperation through UniCredit Foundation with People in Need with which we already cooperated in the past, particularly during the floods" added Jiří Kunert, CEO of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic.
