The Group's strong commitment to incorporating environmental, social and governance aspects into the banking business acknowledged by "Highly Commended" category of the Farsight Award
"The Halo's Creed", the UniCredit's research report written by Patrick Yves Berger, Head of ESG Equity Research captured the "Highly Commended" category of the Farsight Award, one of 12 award categories in the Sustainable City Awards established in 2001 and sponsored by the City of London Corporation .
The objective of the Farsight Award is to honour the best individual piece of analysis by an investment research institution that integrates traditional financial analysis with longer-term environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues such as climate change, resource scarcity, fair trade, corporate governance and human capital.
UniCredit was chosen by the Award judges, who convened in December 2010, to review more than 34 reports from such major international banks as JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.
"It is a great honour to accept this prize in the name of all the analysts, strategists and business partners who have contributed to this award," said Patrick Yves Berger. "Furthermore, I am delighted to see that our sustainability research is being recognised not only by sustainability experts but increasingly by the mainstream investment community as well, as has been highlighted through recent articles published in the UK's "The Economist" and Germany's "Handelsblatt", which underscore our efforts in the field of responsible investment," Berger explained.
