A constructive meeting was held in Rome on July 8th between the leaders of the Italian Consumer Associations (CAs) and UniCredit Group Top Management: Deputy CEOs Paolo Fiorentino and Roberto Nicastro; Antonella Massari - Head of Group Identity and Communications; Raffaele Cicala - CEO UniCredit Family Financing Bank S.p.A; Alessandro Cataldo - UniCredit Banca di Roma General Director.
One year after the Framework Agreement signature with the CAs on July 9th 2008, UniCredit has renewed its commitment to strengthen systematic dialogue with 12 Consumer Associations, key stakeholders that could support the Group in the development of a sustainable business.
During the meeting many themes were discussed, including financial education for clients, an important tool to enhance awareness in the buying processes that could help prevent the phenomenon of overindebtdness.
These meetings were carried out in several UniCredit branches in Italy on the 23rd and 25th of June 2009, with positive feedback from the clients on themes such as "tools that could prevent overindebtdness", "credit and ATM cards", "safe use of online payments".
Another important point was the way to strengthen the dialogue between the Group's Financial Product Factory and the Consumer Associations, as occurred during the meeting held on July 6th between UniCredit Family Financing and the Consumer Associations on mortgage loans, aimed at further enhancing the clearness and transparency of communication tools for clients.
