A Future is the most valuable Present you can give a child. Wherever they may be.
UniCredit Group supports Save the Children and the CivicoZero project, which aims to offer support and protection to the many migrant children that arrive in Italy on their own, without their parents, or that live in vulnerable conditions where the threat of crime, exploitation and abuse is all too real.
Mario Biondi, one of the best-loved voices on the Italian music scene, will be holding a special concert, organised and supported by UniCredit Group, on 24 June at 9 pm at the Cavea dell'Auditorium - Parco della Musica, in Rome. All takings from the event will be donated to Save the Children in order to help get this aid project off the ground.
For many years, Save the Children Italia has worked to protect foreign children that have been separated from their parents, developing new intervention and aid models that are gradually becoming reference standards also at international level.
In 2005 Save the Children launched the "Orizzonti a colori" ('Colourful horizons') project, a mobile street initiative that in just three years has reached and assisted 3143 minors. Faced with growing necessity, in 2009 it redoubled its efforts, opening in Rome "CivicoZero", a low threshold day centre aimed at:
- Provide for the basic requirements of the minors;
- Inform them of their rights and the opportunities open to them in Italy;
- Improve their ability to identify the dangers of exploitation and to avoid them;
- Direct them towards a law abiding life.
Civico Zero forms part of the long-term Save the Children strategy and involves increasing investment for the opening of new centres in Italy. Through this initiative, the UniCredit Group is delighted to contribute to the progress and development of Civico Zero in Italy.
