Milan, Teatro alla Scala Italy

Filarmonica della Scala together with UniCredit, main partner of the orchestra, and UniCredit Foundation have been committed to supporting non-profit organizations operating in the Milan area for the last ten years.

The Open Rehearsals project has now become a very popular event for the city because it allows the public to attend the rehearsals of four of the ten concerts of the Filarmonica Season at the Teatro alla Scala, one of the most beautiful theatres in the world, at reasonable prices. Participants share in the awareness that they are taking part in an important moment of solidarity.

This project involves four organizations from Milan that serve children in difficulty: Fondazione Arché, Casa della Carità, L'Abilità and L'Aliante.

On Sunday 11 November at 7:30 pm at the Teatro alla Scala, the Filarmonica della Scala and UniCredit dedicated the free inaugural rehearsal to the city. Riccardo Chailly, Artistic Director of Teatro alla Scala and Principal Conductor of Filarmonica, conducted the orchestra and Maxim Vengerov performed as solo violinist.

The Open Rehearsals are made possible due to the generosity of the Filarmonica musicians, the conductors and the soloists, and through the collaboration of the Teatro alla Scala, the City of Milan, UniCredit Foundation, UniCredit and Esselunga, which is involved for the first time this year.

The patrons of the project are the Municipality of Milan, the Metropolitan Province and the Region Lombardia. The media partners are ViviMilano and Radio Popolare.
The project is coordinated by Aragorn.
