Wassily Kandinsky Exhibit in Pisa
In Pisa, the BLU Palazzo d'Arte e Cultura will host the exhibit, Wassily Kandinsky: Dalla Russia all'Europa, from October 13, 2012, to February 3, 2013. Fifty works by the Russian master will be on display, drawn from the collections of the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg and several other notable Russian art institutions.
Kandinsky composed the exhibited works from 1901 to 1922. This formative period extends from the time he first decided to devote himself to painting to the time that he left Russia for good and accepted an invitation from Walter Gropius to teach at the Bauhaus in Germany.
In addition to a number of complementary works by other artists, visitors will have an opportunity to admire Kandinsky's early symbolist paintings, as well as several dating from his Murnau period. These imposing canvases mark Kandinsky as a key point of contact between the Occidental and Russian avant-gardes. The exhibit concludes with a number of masterpieces from his last Russian period.
UniCredit employees and customers will receive a €1 discount off the ticket price and a 10 percent discount on the exhibition catalog by showing their UniCredit identification badges, credit or debit cards at the ticket office.
