UniCredit and the prestigious Ubu Prize, 2011
UniCredit is partner of the 2011 edition of the prestigious Premio Ubu (Ubu Prize), that will be awarded on December 12 at the Piccolo Teatro Grassi in Milan (via Rovello 2).
This prize, considered the most important theater recognition in Italy and Europe, was founded by Franco Quadri, well known theater director, critic, essayist and translator recently disappeared. The prize started in 1977 and since 1979 is dedicated to theater. It's name comes from Alfred Jarry's work Ubu re.
We'd like to remember some of the most important directions awarded with the Premio Ubu: Spettri by Ronconi (1981), Otello and Macbeth by Carmelo Bene (1978 and 1982), Turandot by Cobelli (1980), I giganti della montagna by Tiezzi (1992), Finale di partita by Cecchi (1994) and many other important plays.
UniCredit supports this year edition of the Prize and contributes to honor the founder Franco Quadri. Also through this initiative UniCredit is near culture in one if its highest expressions.
