From November 12, 2011, to April 15, 2012, UniCredit colleagues are invited to take an artistic journey with Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa.

In the context of UniCredit's commitment to art and culture, our Group is proud to be the main sponsor of an exhibition entitled Van Gogh e il viaggio di Gauguin (Van Gogh and the Journeys of Gauguin), which will run from November 12 to April 15, 2012, at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa.

The exhibition highlights the seminal art produced by Vincent van Gogh and its role as a bridge between the 19th and 20th centuries, with a focus on his geographic and spiritual journeys.

Roughly 40 of van Gogh's works - including 25 paintings and 15 drawings - form the core of the exhibition, most of them on loan from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, Netherlands.

Paul Gauguin's "Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?" will also be on display, thanks to UniCredit's support. The masterpiece has generously been provided on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, for just the fourth time in its history - and only its second time in Europe.

Artwork by legendary American artists will be exhibited, as well, with a selection of pieces that evoke the exploration of unknown lands. Works by such 19th-century artists as Albert Bierstadt, Frederic Edwin Church and Winslow Homer will be on display, in addition to 20th-century pieces by Richard Diebenkorn, Edward Hopper, Mark Rothko and Andrew Wyeth.

Visitors will continue their intellectual journey by exploring the artistic visions of European masters, including Caspar David Friedrich, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Claude Monet, Nicolas de Staël and William Turner.
