UniCredit is Main Partner of the European Union Youth Orchestra Spring Tour 2011
UniCredit is the main partner for the Spring Tour 2011 of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO). This orchestra was founded in 1976 by Lionel and Joy Bryer, as the main project of the International Youth Foundation of Great Britain. It is supported by the European Commission's Culture Programme and it unites the most talented young musicians from across Europe.
The members of the orchestra, between the age of 14 and 24, have been selected from all 27 member countries of the European Union and have to re-audition every year along with new applicants in order to retain their place. This is why the orchestra has an outstanding musical and educational reputation. The young musicians play under the direction of some of the world's leading conductors and performs throughout Europe and around the world.
UniCredit decided to support this prestigious orchestra because it fits in perfectly with some of the fundamental principles of UniCredit's commitment to culture: support for talented youths and for music as international language that transcend geographical and cultural borders.
