Dolomites Project 2010 Opens at Rovereto’s MART
This February 11, MART (the Museum of Art of Trento and Rovereto) will present a solo exhibition by Olivo Barbieri called Dolomites Project 2010, which will run until May 1, 2011.
The exhibition, curated by Gabriella Belli, was conceived by Barbieri himself, in collaboration with Trentino Marketing, MART and the Province of Trento. It is one of the international initiatives recently organized to promote the recognition of the Dolomites as a World Heritage site.
Using 10 large-format photographs and a 12-minute high-definition video, the artist explores the mountains as architecture, as ever-shifting symbols, and he interprets their skyline as a zigzagging history of the earth. The different pieces combine to make a broad statement on the centrality of the environment and the sustainability of natural landscapes.
UniCredit and MART are partners. We work together to support cultural activities that serve to enhance our contemporary artistic heritage and promote the work of young talent.

Additionally, from February 11 until June 12, the museum will host an exhibition featuring the work of an emerging, young Italian artist, Alessandro Roma. As his first museum show, it will be a part of MART's Contemporanea program, which promotes the work of young international talents.
