AMACI presents the sixth “Giornata del Contemporaneo”, October 9
The sixth edition of the "Giornata del Contemporaneo" will take place Saturday, October 9, 2010. It will open for free to the public more than 1000 contemporary art institutions, all other Italy. Also this year AMACI, the Italian Association of Contemporary Art Museums, of which UniCredit is Main Partner, organize this important event that will help people to approach contemporary art.
Stefano Arienti created for the event the artwork Cristalli, that is the symbol of this edition. It is a refined tribute to Italy, that is preparing to celebrate the 150th anniversary of its Unity, shown as a fragile entity made of hundreds of glass pieces. It is also a tribute to the famous Italian artist Luciano Fabro who, in 1968, presented Italy like a light glass shape.
Arienti has been chosen to make the image of the event in line with the project that sees every year an Italian contemporary artist creating the symbol of the Giornata del Contemporaneo. The past editions have seen works by Michelangelo Pistoletto, Maurizio Cattelan, Paola Pivi e Luigi Ontani.
