    January 2011

On September 25, 2010, almost eight years after the opening of its primary building in Rovereto, the Mart museum will pay tribute to its architect with an exhibition, Mario Botta, Architecture 1960 - 2010, curated by Botta himself.

The show will highlight more than 90 finished projects, organized by 12 themes. The first section, called "Meetings," provides an introduction to Botta, the man and architect, incorporating reminiscences and observations of people with whom he has worked. Other sections explore the evolution of his design sense and many of the projects he has realized.

Both past and present are reflected in the work of this important architect, born in Ticino. He seeks to create spaces where the contemporary individual can feel at peace, both with his solitude and with his place in the collective whole.

The public will have an opportunity to see Botta in person during the upcoming third edition of Educa, a nationwide education conference, which takes place in Rovereto from September 23 to September 26. Botta is scheduled to speak on September 24 at 4:00 pm in Mart's Melotti Auditorium, located at Mart's main entrance. Also in attendance will be Gabriella Belli, Aldo Colonetti, Paolo Crepet and Gillo Dorfles.

The exhibition will run from September 25 to January 23, 2011.
