Conversations with Authors at Spazio Trento. Francesco Jodice’s “Trento,” with insights from Gabriele Basilico and others
After the exhibition "Objective Trento, Dialogues on Photography: Flavio Faganello and Gabriele Basilico," the schedule continues at Spazio Trento, the multipurpose exhibition space in the Palazzo Firmian headquarters of UniCredit Banca in Trento.
On Tuesday, October 20 at 6 pm, "Trento," a work by Francesco Jodice, will be presented to the public during the first session of Conversations with Authors, an initiative designed by UniCredit Banca to enrich the city's cultural dialogue.
Speakers will include author Francesco Jodice, artist Gabriele Basilico, columnist Franco de Battaglia, Commercial Director of West Triveneto UniCredit Banca, Romano Artoni, and Chairman of the UniCredit & Art Scientific Commission, Walter Guadagnini. The moderator will be Ferruccio Cazzanelli, Head of UniCredit Group's Trentino Alto Adige Territorial Relationships.
Jodice's photographic work, dedicated to the city of Trento, was undertaken with the participation of UniCredit Group colleagues. Presenting a perspective on urbanization, the work is engraved with dates and phrases significant to the city and its history.
According to the artist, "my work Trento tells a side story that relates images of the city to a collection of historical accounts. From the important Council of Trent to snippets of seemingly irrelevant stories, the work is a hypertext of writing and photography that invites reflection on the inseparable relationship between a city and its people. This work is the result of a long and intensive exchange with local UniCredit Group employees - an exchange that beneficially impacted the work in both form and meaning."
The work, produced by UniCredit Group and now a part of its corporate art collection, will be on permanent display at the entrance to Spazio Trento, located at Via Galilei 1.
