Major infrastructures plan of Rome area: development perspective and funding opportunities

The Masterplan, developed by CENSIS on an initiaitive of Rome UniCredit Local Committee and Rome Chamber of Commerce, it's not only a map of physical infrastructure but a real integrated project of the new functions and the new logistic services that Rome may also benefit thanks to the building of the single infrastructural works .

The aim of the meeting, in which was presented the research, was to identify and develop solutions for the financial implementation of the Masterplan, through public-private partnerships and innovative solutions of project financing. Solutions based of a new vision of a public infrastructures inserted in a strategic plan with a focus of the profitability for a private investor and considering the networks between infrastructures and territory.

The welcome by Andrea Monorchio, Rome Local Committee Chairman has been followed by the presentations of "Masterplan for Rome. The study results" by Giuseppe Roma - CENSIS Managing Director and "infrastructure, Finance and Planning, an idea for the Development" edited by Marco Recalcati - Managing Director UniCredit Infrastructure. Afterwards were submitted two success experiences about public-private partnerships: The project of Prato-Signa motorway by Vincenza di Nardo, CEO Baldassini Tognozzi Pontello SpA, the project "Andrea Doria Market" by Omer Caffagni, head of planning, finance and control CMB.

At the end the speeches by Andrea Mondello - Rome Chamber of Commerce and Unioncamere Chairman; Luigi Abete - Rome Unione Industriali Chairman; Giancarlo Cremonesi - Acer Chairman; Sergio Ermotti - Deputy CEO UniCredit Group; Enrico Gasbarra - Leading the Province of Rome; Piero Marrazzo - Lazio Governor; Chicco Testa - Rome Metropolitane Chairman, Walter Veltroni - Mayor of Rome. The work has been moderated by Nicoletta Picchio - Il sole 24 Ore.
