The retail division of UniCredit wins for its innovation

The retail division of UniCredit gained the first positions and received nominations in the new edition of the Golden Ring for Financial Innovation. The Golden Ring is awarded by a jury that comprises authoritative analysts in the financial sector and university professors, and rewards banks, investment brokers and savings management companies that distinguished themselves by creating innovative products and services.


Banca per la Casa was awarded a Golden Ring in the Marketing and Communications category for the Interactive Agency project (show-windows and interactive stands in 15 agencies on the national territory).


With the Interactive Agency the client is guided through a unique experience and that is differentiated through a series of solutions with high technological impact and communication to transform the Agency into an interactive communication solution.


The show-window of the Agency becomes a virtual bulletin board, where to look for information, opportunities, deals to respond to a need, to a requirement. A requirement that is fulfilled in a tangible way within the branch where at the multimedia bulletin board the client can print the information of interest.


This way Banca per la Casa once again speaks with the language of simplicity and strengthens its innovative image of the first bank in Italy specialized in the house loan market.


UniCredit received two awards, the first for most innovative financial institution (ex-aequo with Banca Intesa and We@Bank) and the second in the New Service development category for its innovation in subordinate and/or additional services with regards to financial and credit instruments. The project that received the award in this category is Start Up (dedicated to small sized companies). There were also two nominations for the SRT project, Semplice Risparmiare Tempo, and for UniCredit Pass.


In particular clients appreciated the capability to create instruments that are increasingly innovative. The eleventh report by KPMG on Internet Banking in Italy places UniCredit at the top of the list among Italian financial institutions. UniCredit Banca alone (as a retail bank of the UCI group) has a market share in online accounts (11%) that exceeds that of Banca Intesa (10.7%) and that of the entire San Paolo IMI group (10.7%).


Looking at the market in terms of banking orders, UniCredit Banca is alone leader with a market share of 16.5% (Intesa and SanPaolo hold respectively 11% and 7.7% in average group values).
