Unidea at the Rome Film Fest in support of new African talent
Unidea-UniCredit Foundation is taking part in the Rome Film Fest to contribute to the growth of the emerging film industry on the African continent . In fact, Unidea will support the section of the Rome Film Fest promoting new cinema trends and new directors from all over the world, with a special prize for African cinema projects presented within the New Cinema Network.
The prize presented by the Foundation will provide the directors of three African projects with sponsorship for their films. The winners selected at the Fest will receive their prize during a special award ceremony to take place on 19 October in the Parco della Musica Auditorium.
The decision to finance production, rather than presenting an award to a finished project, is not new for the philosophy of the Unidea Foundation, which, already in 2004 contributed to the production of the film "Delwende, lève-toi et marche" directed by Burkinabé S. Pierre Yameogo, winner of the Prix de l'Espoir at the Cannes Film Festival in 2005.
This commitment falls within the more general cooperation activities that the Foundation carries out in Africa to strengthen and support the processes of growth and self-development of the local communities.
