Idea of a City: Reflections on supporting development of the Roma area with the establishment of UniCredit Roma's Local Commitee
UniCredit, with its Local Committees, has sought to realise an interconnection instrument between the bank and the territory, requesting a contribution from civil society, in its various expressions, with the aim of supporting a relaunch of local economies. At Palazzo Verospi, in Roma, the launch of the UniCredit Local Committee was therefore seen as an opportunity to hold discussions concerning the development of the territory and the changes in a market which, especially in the capital, increasingly tends to view know-how, ideas, communication and relations as key assets within the future economy. To this end, the community was requested to imagine a possibile structure which would permit exploration relative to support for economic development in the territory, together with financial intermediaries, with the latter devising new modalities with respect to growth support and accompaniment.
Together with the meeting's moderator, Franco Locatelli - Editorial writer for "Il Sole 24ore", discussion were opened by Edoardo Massaglia - Manager of Corporate Identity UniCredit. These interventions were followed by a presentation of the results of "Idea of a City" research, carried out by Censis, and illustrated by its Director, Giuseppe Roma. The round table that followed saw the partecipation of Aldo Bonomi - Director of Aaster, Giuseppe De Rita - General Secretary of Censis, Andrea Mondello - President of Rome CCIAA, Alessandro Profumo - Managing Director of UniCredit, Alberto Tripi - President of the COS Group and Walter Veltroni - Mayor of Roma.
