Banks, Multiutilities and Capitalism of Networks

  • 29

November 2005

The Carracci Hall, in Magnani Palace, provided the setting for the convention "Banks, Multiutilities and Capitalism of Networks".

The economic system of the networks and services, i.e. Capitalism of Multiutilities, represents, together with the world of finance and logistics, a universe in evolution, an indisputable strategic nodal point able to innervate territories, interconnecting them with the global context, and "serving" production platforms; a support for the various articulations of the national market economy, and a fundamental element in guaranteeing the ability of local economies to compete. This was, therefore, a chance to provide concrete subjects for discussion and exploration, relative to possibilities for global/local collaboration and the growth of territory's economies, exploiting major interaction between banks and networks capitalism, in the light of the most recent market transformations e.g. evolutions of aggregative processes or regulations, which have involved both multiutilities and the credit sector, with reciprocal exchange of know-how and knowledge becoming an important growth factor for both typologies of companies.

The discussions, accompanied overall by Andrea Basagni - Chief Editor of TG3 RAI Regionale Emilia-Romagna, were opened by Aristide Canosani - President of UniCredit Banca and Sergio Cofferati - Mayor of Bologna. Following the intervention by Alessandro Profumo - Managing Director of UniCredit, research was presented regarding the multiutilities sector, presented respectively by Aldo Bonomi - Director of Aaster and Riccardo Deserti - Managing Director of Nomisma S.p.A. . The subsequent talk-show, "Experience and know-how", introduced by Carlo Boschetti - President of UniCredit Bologna - Imola - Ferrara Local Committee, saw the partecipation of Duccio Campagnoli - Councillor for Production, Economic Development and Telematic Plans for Emilia-Romagna, Gianni Coriani - General Director of UniCredit Banca d'Impresa, Francesco Giacomin - Managing Director of AcegasAps S.p.A., Raffaele Morese - President of Confservizi and Tomaso Tommasi di Vignano - President of the Hera Group.
