Did you know we have a former Olympic athlete in our midst? Boštjan Lekan from Slovenia shares his story
"I work as a facility manager in UniCredit Banka Slovenia’s Logistics department. I am also a former Olympic athlete and competed for my country at the Winter Olympics in 1992 and 1994"
"At the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, I achieved 51st place in the 10km sprint and 21st place in the 20km run. In Lillehammer in 1994, I took 59th place in the 20km run, while the Slovenian team took 10th place in the men’s 4 x 7.5 km relay."
"I ended my career in the 1997/98 season after a back injury and hernia surgery and I was forced to rest for 5-6 years. I returned to biathlon and was the service manager for nine years before becoming coach of the Slovenian biathlon A team."
"A few years later I was chosen as the team's shooting coach. I've also been an expert commentator on Slovenian national television at the World biathlon Championships"
"As a member of different teams and a coach, I know how to build positive team spirit and I try to put this into practice in my current job. Some of my colleagues know about my previous career and passions, others will find out now! My life motto is 'A negative mind will never give you a positive life!'"
