...for various initiatives carried out in 2020 for people in need.
UniCredit Bulbank has recently been presented with the prestigious Golden Badge 2020 for Donation at the Workplace in BCause Foundation’s annual awards in Bulgaria. The important award "Responsible Company - Responsible Employees" was assigned for three internal donation campaigns in which 1283 colleagues actively participated. This award is one of the many recognitions UniCredit has received across the different countries it operates in, showing once again that we are strongly committed to being part of the solution in these difficult times.
Internal donation campaign against COVID-19 was focused on supporting ten organisations that work with people in need: socially disadvantaged, elderly, people with disabilities or in extreme poverty, victims of violence, as well as covering primary medical needs and equipment. UniCredit Foundation increased the total donation amount by tenfold, which was distributed equally among ten organisations in Bulgaria.
Gift Matching Programme UniCredit Foundation doubled the donation amount dedicated to two causes: one related to children’s health (Fund for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Children) and the other related to social integration of young people in need (Social Teahouse).
Christmas charity raffle was a new initiative carried out last December in Bulgaria instead of the traditional Christmas charity bazaar which could not be organised due to the pandemic. Together with the top management, the team in Bulgaria donated all Christmas gifts received from customers and partners for the Bank's top management, to a charity raffle. Colleagues purchased tickets, for a small cost of 10 BGN (5 euro), allowing them to participate in a virtual raffle. All the funds collected were donated to the Fund for orphaned children of doctors and teachers, victims of Covid-19.
The donation process was organised in an easy and innovative way using QR codes generated by the organisations and via our Bulbank Mobile app. The donation campaigns thus attracted many colleagues and the innovative approach led to a special award for the Bank from the BCause Foundation.
