The second edition of ‘Call for the Regions’, the solidarity initiative launched by UniCredit Foundation has just concluded. The aim of the project is to support non-profit organisations and initiatives focused on children.

Of more than 280 applications, 24 projects were selected, granting a total amount of €350,000. This includes 11 initiatives focusing on children with disability, seven fighting educational poverty, and six supporting communities dedicated to helping mothers and children.

“We are very impressed by the applicants of the second edition of ‘Call for the Regions’, which saw the participation of many remarkable non-profit organisations. The initiative allows us to support important social projects in Italy, as part of our commitment to staying close to all the communities in which UniCredit operates and actively respond to their needs,” said Maurizio Beretta, Chairman of the UniCredit Foundation.

‘Call for the Regions’ was also made possible thanks to the support of UniCredit employees in the different regions of Italy. The seven regional offices across the country (North West, Lombardy, North East, Center North, Center, South and Sicily) were all directly involved to ensure that the specific needs of each local community were fully taken into account.
