UniCredit Foundation and UniCredit employees raise over € 1.2 million to support Italian Hospital in the fight against COVID-19

Donations were received from more than 3,000 employees in just two weeks - over 20 per cent from outside Italy.

UniCredit's Group-wide employee fundraising initiative, in support of three of the Italian hospitals most involved in the battle against Covid-19, closed on 31 March. In just two weeks, 3,016 donations from employees helped raise a total of €1,228,000, of which €1 million was contributed by the UniCredit Foundation.

The funding will be allocated as follows:

  • €556,600 to the Luigi Sacco Hospital of Milan
  • €353,500 to the National Institute for Infectious Diseases Lazzaro Spallanzani of Rome
  • €318,600 to the IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo di Pavia Foundation.

In Italy, UniCredit Foundation together with UniCredit donated €2 million to Civil Protection for the purchase of masks, sanitary materials and medical equipment and €200 000 to the Policlinico Hospital in Milan.
