Covid-19 Update


The health and well-being of employees and customers is UniCredit's top priority.

In light of the Italian government decree of 11 March 2020, UniCredit has taken decisive action to guarantee nation-wide service coverage for its clients while protecting the health of both, clients and staff. A limited number of branches will remain open in all regions.


UniCredit is working actively to ensure all banking services are available through remote channels. The list of branches that will remain open is available on the website www. and continuously updated:



All advisory services in Italy will be carried out remotely.


UniCredit clients can retrieve all relevant information on products and services and perform all main banking activities in a simple, fast and secure way through multiple remote channels including: Internet Banking, UniCredit Mobile Banking App and Telephone Banking.


UniCredit continues to increase remote working possibilities, whilst at the same time granting employees paid leave of absence where necessary.

Central offices will remain open with reduced team sizes for business critical functions only.


The Group will continue to actively monitor the situation, always act in everyone's best interests and do the right thing vis a vis all its stakeholders!

UniCredit today confirmed that its annual shareholders meeting pertaining to financial year 2019 is to be held on 9 April 2020. In order to protect the health of its shareholders, employees and other relevant attendees, it has been decided that the shareholders meeting will take place behind closed doors as per the provisions communicated by the Italian government on 17  March 2020.

UniCredit has activated a strict Group-wide health and safety protocol that ensures the application of precautionary and remedial measures in cases of suspected and confirmed cases of infection.

We remain in constant contact with the infected colleagues to make sure they receive all possible support and we send them our best wishes for a speedy recovery.

At present, 69 employees in Italy, 35 in Germany, 15 in Austria, 1 in Bulgaria, 7 in UniCredit Croatia, 1 in UniCredit Czech Republic/Slovakia, 1 in Hungary,  and 1 in New York branch have tested positive for the virus. 20 have already recovered.

The Group will continue to actively monitor the situation in close contact with local authorities.

UniCredit top management decides to waive their entire 2020 bonus


Milan, March 31, 2020



The UniCredit Remuneration Committee, which met today, acknowledged the decision of UniCredit top management to waive their entire bonus for the year 2020.


The equivalent amount will be contributed to UniCredit Foundation to support social initiatives. The Committee welcomed and appreciated the responsible managerial decision, considering the uncertain impact on the European economy of the current COVID-19 epidemic and its evolution over the next months.


"The decision taken by UniCredit's top management is another good demonstration of the Group's commitment to doing the right thing" said Lamberto Andreotti, Deputy Chairman of the UniCredit Board of Directors and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.

In view of the Corona crisis, UniCredit Bank Austria donates 100,000 euros to Caritas and SOS-Kinderdorf, a total of 200,000 euros for social projects.

UniCredit and UniCredit Foundation decided to donate 500 thousand euro to Protezione Civile, for the purchasing of sanitary materials and medical devices for those in need.
