The Filarmonica della Scala is Coming to a Movie Theater Near You
For its thirtieth season, the Filarmonica della Scala together with UniCredit, its main partner, presents Filarmonica della Scala al cinema (The Filarmonica della Scala in Movie Theaters), a project that will stream five live orchestral performances during its 2011-2012 season to movie theaters around the world.
The concerts will be filmed in high-definition and broadcast live via satellite. Moviegoers will have the unique experience of listening to a Filarmonica performance in real time, with the added perspective of seeing close-ups of the orchestra, soloists and the conductor. Director Francesco Micheli will take the audience behind the scenes and into the theater hall, where he will interview the performing artists and conductors.
Beginning Thursday, January 26, five legendary conductors will direct five concerts with a musical repertoire spanning from the 18th century to modern day.
UniCredit colleagues and customers are eligible to receive discounted tickets (€10 rather than €15), and will be required to present their UniCredit badge or debit card at the box office.
